Setting Locales Failed – Ubuntu/Debian

Seting locales mungkin belum terkonfigurasi saat instalasi/upgrade Linux Debian/Ubuntu/LinuxMint. Akibatnya, pesan warning muncul saat menjalankan aplikasi Perl (misalnya, drbd-overview)

perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
        LANGUAGE = (unset),
        LC_ALL = (unset),
        LC_TIME = "id_ID.UTF-8",
        LC_MONETARY = "id_ID.UTF-8",
...

Peringatan ini tidak bermasalah. Namun, sebaiknya tetap diperbaiki.

Agar peringatan tersebut tidam muncul kembali, environment LANGUAGE dan LC_ALL perlu diset. Hal ini dapat dilakukan dari konsole shell.

$ export LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8
$ export LANG=en_US.UTF-8
$ export LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8

Agar dapat dijalankan setiap kali booting, sisipkan baris berikut ke /etc/rc.local sebelum baris exit 0. Isi file /etc/rc.local seperti berikut:

...
export LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8
export LANG=en_US.UTF-8
export LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8
exit 0
